Tahoe

During our February Winter break from school we took off for Lake Tahoe. WOW! Talk about snow!

We had so much fun, sledding, hanging out, watching movies and just spending time together. The girls even sold Girl Scout Cookies on Walk-About weekend! What a wonderful four days.

I just love the Sierra with her white winter coat.

We totally expected there to be MAJOR traffic. This was our "traffic" the entire drive through the Sierra.
We even made it up in record time. YAHOO!

Just a little snow. The house is under there somewhere. Had to dig to get to the front door.

Fresh snow from the night before. Our street hadn't even been plowed yet.

This was the view from all the downstairs windows.

Going down the sled run daddy made for them. My little snow bunnies. They stayed outside for hours. Only homemade peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate would bring them in.

Those are some icicles.

We visited friends and the girls went down their sled run. Now that was a sled run!

My little Girl Scouts selling cookies on walk-about weekend in the snow!
They even sold a few boxes!

Our Anniversary Weekend Away

I told my husband, I wanted a weekend away for our anniversary. Two nights away with no kids. Here is what he planned.

The perfect weekend. He even ordered perfect weather.

He booked us two nights in a little studio duplex cabin at Glen Oaks Big Sur. We had dinner in (left over duck) on Friday night with a camp fire. Saturday we went for a hike in Pfeiffer Big Sur. Saturday night he made reservations for a beautiful candle lit dinner at Big Sur Bakery and Restaurant. It was lovely! The Tuna Tartare was to die for!!! Oh my gosh it was SO good.

We relaxed, had fun taking pictures, took walks, talked...... it was a perfectly lovely weekend. Here are some pictures.

Gotta love the self-timer, tripod and a slow shutter.

The view from our little cabin. There is a river beyond those trees.

We went for a walk and had fun using the tripod and slow shutter. This is just one of the many images we took.

More self-timer and a slow shutter. In the image below you can see some of the restaurant staff....blurred. Just having fun.

Thank you my love for a beautiful weekend! I love you!

Happy Anniversary To My Beloved

Fifteen years ago today I married my best friend. My prince charming. It has been the best 15 years.

Happy Anniversary my love! Thank you for these past 15 years. I look forward to our next 15 and beyond.

One morning about 12 or so years ago. I get into my car to go to work. There is a note on my steering wheel from my beloved saying start the car, but don't drive. So I did. This is the song that played. The song still bring tears of joy to my eyes.

Thanksgiving

I know, Thanksgiving was several weeks ago. Well, I've been a little busy. Thought I'd better post our wonderful weekend with my sister-in-law and soon to be brother-in-law before Christmas arrives.

We had a wonderfully relaxing Thanksgiving weekend at the Sonoma Coast. Spent some much needed quality time with C's sister and her fiance. The girls love their new uncle. As do we! Check out these images. One guess on what CK asked Santa for Christmas?

A beautiful sunset our first night.
Making dinner with Uncle R.
Woke up to this view on Thanksgiving morning.

Hunting for Chanterelles with Aunt D.

 Thanksgiving Sunset

CK wakes me up at about 7:30am and says "Mommy! You have to take a picture of the sunrise!" Good call CK, but my camera was DOWNSTAIRS. I'm so glad I took the time to take this shot.

Breakfast tastes so much better on vacation and with this view. How can you go wrong?

The day after Thanksgiving was a perfect day for a hike.

Uncle R helped the girls see the seals on the rock through the telescope.
Walking down to the water was quiet the little hike....131 steps, but well worth it!

My nosy girls had to check out what the divers were doing. They loved that telescope. That's a kelp forest the divers are sitting on top of, by the way.

Thank you again, D and R, for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
