A Special Note on a Busy Day

This past week was very busy, but very fun. I had my niece for the week and the three girls and I went to Girl Scout Day Camp. We also had Patriotic Sing rehearsal. With my husband working Monday and Tuesday night (my two busiest days) I wasn't able to even sit down until 10:30pm each night.

On Wednesday night I found this note from CK on the kitchen island. It was perfect timing.

Needlessto say I cried when I read this beautiful note. I will keep this note forever. CK always knows exactly what to say and when to say it.

Thank you CK for saying such wonderful things. I love you more than you know!

Last Day of 2nd and 4th Grade

I just can not believe today was the last day of school! This year just zipped by so darn fast!

It was a great year. The girls had fantastic teachers again this year. They both did great in school. We are so proud of both girls.

I am looking forward summer break. Sleeping in, cleaning and organizing the house and spending some quality time with my great girls!

My Little Swan

Tonight was O's 2nd Grade musical The Ugly Duckling. They did a fantastic job; students, teachers.....they were so cute. O got to announce the play. She did a great job. Nice and loud. Very clear. So proud of her.

The Girls New Cousin - 6 days old

We are all so excited to welcome baby D. The girls have a cousin on daddy's side and are SO excited! We got to meet him last weekend. Beautiful baby.

Congratulations to the new mommy and daddy.

First Holy Communion

I'm behind on posts, but had to post this one now.

My baby received her First Holy Communion today. She has been waiting for this day for two years. She has been counting down the last several days. This morning she woke up so excited "Today is my First Communion!"

O was nervous about messing up with her Communion today. My wiggly little girl who asks every 5 minutes if mass is finished, stood perfectly still, listening to every word the priest said. She did every sign the of the cross and prayer through out mass. She even asked for blessings for my aunt who has cancer (nice and loud for everyone around us to hear). She was perfect. I'm so proud of her.

Wordless Wednesday

Tahoe

During our February Winter break from school we took off for Lake Tahoe. WOW! Talk about snow!

We had so much fun, sledding, hanging out, watching movies and just spending time together. The girls even sold Girl Scout Cookies on Walk-About weekend! What a wonderful four days.

I just love the Sierra with her white winter coat.

We totally expected there to be MAJOR traffic. This was our "traffic" the entire drive through the Sierra.

We even made it up in record time. YAHOO!

 Just a little snow. The house is under there somewhere. Had to dig to get to the front door.

Fresh snow from the night before. Our street hadn't even been plowed yet.

This was the view from all the downstairs windows.

 Going down the sled run daddy made for them. My little snow bunnies. They stayed outside for hours. Only homemade peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate would bring them in.

Those are some icicles.

 We visited friends and the girls went down their sled run. Now that was a sled run!

My Baby Turns Eight!

Eight years ago today my beautiful second daughter was born. Our surprise baby. What a wonderful surprise she was.

Our Anniversary Weekend Away

I told my husband, I wanted a weekend away for our anniversary. Two nights away with no kids. Here is what he planned.

The perfect weekend. He even ordered perfect weather.

He booked us two nights in a little studio duplex cabin at Glen Oaks Big Sur. We had dinner in (left over duck) on Friday night with a camp fire. Saturday we went for a hike in Pfeiffer Big Sur. Saturday night he made reservations for a beautiful candle lit dinner at Big Sur Bakery and Restaurant. It was lovely! The Tuna Tartare was to die for!!! Oh my gosh it was SO good.

We relaxed, had fun taking pictures, took walks, talked...... it was a perfectly lovely weekend. Here are some pictures.
